On the 80th anniversary of V-E (Victory in Europe) they stationed 80 pipers up and down the street each one played for 1 min. It went for 80 minutes and you could hear each piper wind up. It was to honor the dead and those that served and I thought this was one of the most moving and interesting remembrances I have experienced. It wasn't a parade, but for an hour and 20 minutes they played in the background. We talked to a few of them. One named Alan Beverage was a vet who was in several peace-keeping missions with the UN. My friend was in a Peace Keeping mission in Bosnia and he said it was harrowing. Some pipers were vets others were pipers and all seemed very proud to be able to pipe in honor of Victory in Europe.
Scotland the Brave and Amazing Grace played up and down the street.
