The RML is the high capacity version of the Routemaster designed for the major central London routes. The extra capacity was obtained by adding a 2ft 4in bay in the centre of the body and is instantly recognisable due to the square windows that rather look like an afterthought
Total seating capacity is 72, (32 Downstairs and 40 upstairs)
Originally powered by an AEC AV590 9.6 litre diesel rated at 115 bhp at 1800 rpm driving through an AEC direct selection/automatic 4 speed with electrical control and air operation
RML 2752 was fitted with a Park Royal body number H4032R and delivered new to Aldenham in January 1968, entering service on 130 Groupe (Croydon)Returning to Aldenham for a repaint in November 1970 and for a overhaul December 1974.. Transferring to Stockwell in March 1974 and then into store July 1976. Returning to service December 1976 after a body swop, In 1991 it was fitted with an Iveco engine and refurbished in 1992.
Privatised to London Genral in 1994 and transferred to Stockwell again in May 2002. Reassigned to Arriva London and put in store at Brixton, August 2003, returning to service in November 2003 and into store again (Stamford Hill) April 2004. Transfer to service number 38 (Clapton) in May 2004 before withdrwal in September 2004 and storeage at Tottenham Marshes. Final reininstated to Brixton and used on the 159 servicein October 2005.
In December 2005 it was purchased by Artichoke Productions and converted to open top and repainted Gold, in May 2006 it was used in the Sultan's Elephant Parade, Purchased February 2013 by M. Hawkins of Clophill, Beds.and sold to its current owners Vintage Bus Bars in January 2014.
