One of the biggest highlights of my South America tour was visiting the Perito Moreno Glacier - a real natural spectacle.
In addition, this bird flew right into my picture - I changed the camera settings at the touch of a button and took a series of photos. These two shots were then sharp and I seamlessly put two photos together to create this panorama. So it's the same bird, slightly delayed. Interestingly, this gives you a temporal dimension in the picture. Sometimes you need a bit of luck.

Since 2020 the glacier has been retreating on its northern front, possibly due to climate change. It was previously one of the few unusual glaciers that maintained a state of equilibrium during the late 20th and early 21st centuries because it was accumulating mass at a rate similar to that of its loss.
The terminus of the Perito Moreno Glacier is 5 km (3.1 mi) wide, with an average height of 74 m (240 ft) above the surface of the water of Argentino Lake, in Argentina. It has a total ice depth of 170 metres (558 ft).
Eines der ganz großen Highlights meiner Südamerika-Tour war der Besuch des Perito Moreno Gletschers - ein wirkliches Naturschauspiel.
Dazu kam, dass mir dieser Vogel genau ins Bild geflogen ist - die Kameraeinstellung per Knopfdruck geändert und eine Serie von Fotos gemacht. Dabei waren dann diese beiden Schüsse scharf und ich habe zwei Fotos nahtlos zu diesem Panorama zusammengesetzt. Es handelt sich also um den gleichen Vogel etwas zeitversetzt. So bekommt man interessanterweise gleich noch eine zeitliche Dimension mit ins Bild. Manchmal braucht es etwas Glück.
