Abused & Abandoned Jungle Dogs.
The elusive "Tiger Cage" is now
at our place, and here's the story.
First, nobody thought I could do it.
Words that fell on deaf ears. And
some whining and sniveling is
definitely in order here ;-0-
Notice the bottom right corner of
the cage where the iron peg is.
And how much there isn't any
seat left to sit on ! What's left
of the seat is just enough to
place my tailbone on !
Now usually my butt sits in the middle of the
seat cushion. My long bird legs stretch out
to the peddles and my long monkey arms
rest on the handlebar grips. Not Today !
Photo was taken on the way home.
20 meters after leaving the dog clinic it
was easy to see I could not shift out of
first gear. Pulled over, got off the bike
and used my hand to shift into 2nd.
Took off again and 50 meters
later had to repeat the same
process into 3rd gear.
Now taking off in 3rd gear is quite tricky.
Using my right leg I'd push the bike along
as not to burn out the clutch then fold my
leg back into a weird pretzel shape while
the peg is digging into my right side and
cramps are becoming a huge problem !
5 times I had to stop on the way home
and walk off the painful cramps then
continue on towards home. Once
home I continued to walk around.
Alright enough sniveling ---
The story behind "The Tiger Cage" is
slightly different then I thought it was.
A couple years back the clinic had this
custom built specifically for large dogs
that had the propensity to destroy and
escape from already heavy duty built
dog cages. Problem being it was way
to difficult for the clinic staff to move
The Tiger Cage around for cleaning.
You can put any human or animal in
side, close the door and latch the
two latches and it is now Houdini
proof ! The clinic invested about
$350 USD to have this one built.
Today we picked it up for $150.
To continue the story ---
Remember not to long ago about $200 USD
was donated so we could get a good crate
and start in on the spay/neuter project ?
We searched high and low and had
a difficult time finding any thing
that was worthy. Then the dog
clinic decided to help us out.
Now for all that time the donated funds
was stashed in a secret envelope and
hidden in an even more secret place.
We were having difficulties keeping
the food and medicine supply stocked
but I gave my word the donated funds
were to be used for a special crate &
I wasn't going back on my word !
With what's left over 4 locking casters
will be welded in place by the village
welder. Step by step we get closer.
At this point we are about halfway there.
I'm trying to acquire some used fencing
so the dogs doing post-op can get out
of the crate and have a 10ft x 10ft area
to stretch their legs and lay on the grass.
If you read this to the end I thank you ;-)
Thank You.
