The death of the White-leaved Oak, based in a valley between Chase End Hill and Ragged Stone Hill at the southern end of the Malvern Hills, is probably hastened by this years continuing drought.
The tree is believed to be around 400 to 500 years old. A visit at the end of May showed what little new growth had emerged this Spring was dried up and shrivelled.
A sad loss for a tree that was a contender in the National 'Tree of the Year' competition in 2014
