Linaria vulgaris - a plant with a multitude of common names. In the Midwest, often known as "butter and eggs", but most widely known as "yellow toadflax". It's native to Eurasia, but introduced to North America. Sometimes considered invasive / a weed. It is in the Lamiales order and the Plantaginaceae (plantain) family.
Photographed along the Kinnickinnic River Trail (KK River Trail), in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In a reach where the trail parallels the Canadian Pacific railroad corridor.
