A FEATURE OF THE EXULTANT DEMONSTRATIONS IN NEW YORK OVER THE SIGNING OF THE ARMISTICE WAS THE CEREMONY OF SALUTING THE VICTORIOUS FLAGS OF THE ALLIES AT THE PUBLIC LIBRARY.
THE ITALIAN FLAG IS JUST BEING RAISED.
ON NOV 11 1918 THE STREETS OF THE METROPOLIS WERE PACKED WITH CHEERING THRONGS.
AT 42ND STREET AND FIFTH AVENUE, SHOWN ABOVE, TRAFFIC WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE.
