I'VE GONE CONG'L. by Tim Kiser

I'VE GONE CONG'L.

I assume "1st. CONG'L" was less expensive to engrave than "FIRST CONGREGATIONAL." I might have recommended omitting the full stop after "1st," to save a little more money.

HERE WERE BACKSIDES of downtown buildings in Coldwater, Michigan, as viewed from the "balcony" of a cherrypicker.

No I'm just kidding, I wasn't in the cherrypicker for this one. A traffic island hosts a family of pad-mounted transformers.

Remember the 19th century: DOWNTOWN COLDWATER.

Nobody will be surprised if this gets demolished but here it was in 2024, continuing to exist, sandwiched.

According to the official federal documentation of the Coldwater Downtown Historic District, this is part of a row of buildings that "probably date from the 1860s and 70s."

Here was the year 1977, expressed as rounded brown corners at a commercial bank building in a Midwestern small town. by Tim Kiser

Here was the year 1977, expressed as rounded brown corners at a commercial bank building in a Midwestern small town.

All I'm out here doing is trying to help people fill in the gaps in their knowledge of 1977 in architecture, such as might exist. Personally I prefer credit unions to commercial banks.
