After getting the Kąty-Moerdijk shuttle on photo in Poland a month earlier, I had a little bit of luck in The Netherlands too. I was just on my way home from work when a friend notified me the train was heading my way. So I turn around and eventually arrived in Zutphen. There I was able get this train on photo as it headed for Lage Zwaluwe, where a diesel loco would take over.

The DVLA has it as white, which the majority of it is.
It had one owner until 2011 and two since.
90,000 miles at the last MOT.
Not many 309s around now, especially in this condition.

Dusk has come by the time HMCS HARRY DEWOLF reached Lock 8 at Port Colborne on 22 October 2024.
