Another view across towards Snowdon.
Looking across the spoil tips towards Snowdon, with the Gyrn Las ridge I'd climbed the day before visible in the middle of the photo.
As I came closer to the top half of the ridge a line of weakness showed itself running up to the right of the ridge.
The view past the Clogwyn Person Arete towards Crib Goch.
I was a little concerned that the upper half of the ridge might pose some problems, although it did seem that there was route through the steeper section.
When the Llanberis Path turned left under the Snowdon Mountain Railway at the Clogwyn Station I continued along the ridge line, with some exposure at first as I passed the halt.

Looking down the 'neckier' part of the ridge where it starts to get particularly steep. Sticking to the crest here made the scramble quite entertaining.
As I approached what seemed to be the top of the ridge the ground started to sharpen up on both sides.
Above the top of the steepening the ridge broadened out and became grassy again.

The further up the ridge I went the better the views became.
A long way back down to the Pass of Llanberis, with Gyder Fawr in the background.
It was possible to thread some rocky sections together in the lower half of the ridge to get some scrambling.
After a while the grass started to give way to a bit of rock.
I decided to avoid joining the crowds heading up the Llanberis path and battled against the wind towards the top of Garnedd Ugain.
The top of the ridge continued to look pretty imposing.
I spotted a little grassy gully leading up to the top of Clogwyn Mawr, and decided to take a detour over to have a look at it.
