A bit of a surprise here as I expected another ancient Alco DL-543 to appear on this train, not a 12 year old 3000 hp DLW monster! BR BED-30 DLW 6517 arrives at Mubarakganj with train 16 06h00 Rohanpur to Khulna on 29th January 2025. Acceleration, even in low power notches was unsurprisingly rapid!
Alco built BEA-20 6007 at Ishardi with the “Rocket Mail” train 23 Khulna to Parbatipur passenger on 1st February 2025. Look at the arrow straight track ahead. Open it up and let’s go!
There’s no tedious low speed turnouts leading to the platforms at Ishardi Jn, so Alco built BEA-20 6007 breezes into the station at line speed with the “Rocket Mail” train 23 Khulna to Parbatipur passenger on 1st February 2025.
DLW built BED-30 6517 at Abdulpur with train 16 06h00 Rohanpur - Khulna “Mohananada Mail” on 2nd February 2025. Abdulpur Jn is where the line to Rajshahi and Chapai Nawabganj / Rohanpur diverges from the Khulna - Parbatipur Main Line - itself the former pre partition of India Calcutta - Siliguri Main Line. Construction of new lines occurred on both sides of the new border post 1947 to form something workable in both countries. The BED-30s used to work all the Inter City trains, but have been relegated to secondary work with the influx of 40 new EMDs.
DLW built BED-30 6507 arrives at Rajshahi with train 16 06h00 Rohanpur to Khulna “Mohananda Mail” on 1st February 2025. The imposing building behind the train is Rajshahi station. Only one line is a through road providing access to Rohanpur, Chspai Nawabganj and India. The remaining platforms are southward facing dead ends.
