Andorra la Vella the capital of the Principality of Andorra a sovereign landlocked country bordered by France to the north and Spain to the south.

Believed to have been created by Charlemagne, Andorra was ruled by the count of Urgell until 988, when it was transferred to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Urgell. The present principality was formed by a charter in 1278. It is currently headed by two co-princes: the Bishop of Urgell in Catalonia, Spain, and the president of France.

Andorra is the sixth-smallest state in Europe, with an area of 468 square kilometres and a population of approximately 79,034. The Andorran people are a Romance ethnic group closely related to Catalans. It is the world's 16th-smallest country by land and 11th-smallest by population.

The official language is Catalan, but Spanish, Portuguese, and French are also commonly spoken. Tourism in Andorra brings approximately 8 million visitors to the country annually.

La Noblesse du temps (Nobility Of Time) in Andorra la Vella the capital of the Principality of Andorra a sovereign landlocked country bordered by France to the north and Spain to the south.

It was created by Salvador Dalí, ceded to the Andorran principality in 1999 and was placed in his current home the Plaza de la Rotonda in 2010/.

This sculpture belonged to Enric Sabater, a friend and confidante of Dalí. The sculpture passed through several museums before the owner decided that the work had to be exhibited in Andorra.

One of the characteristic elements of Dalí's creation are the clocks and the passage of time they represent, which are usually called soft clocks.

In addition to the melting clock, the statue features several other figures. The clock is mounted on a mighty tree, whose roots penetrate a platform of brick. This theme of decay and renewal is ever-present in Dalí’s work. An angel sits to one side, lost deep in thought, or perhaps in mourning. On the other side, a woman stands up from a bath, looking brightly ahead to the new day. This juxtaposition of uncertainty and courage gives the sculpture a more palpable meaning.

Andorra 2022 – Spanish and French post

Andorra doesn't have its own postal service, both the Spanish and the French post operate in Andorra. Both postal services issue their own Andorra stamps, so you have to be careful which stamps and which postbox to use.
