All New Scavenger Hunt 135 - 8. Negative Space
My art therapy group decided to take a break from our more serious and complicated paintings to do something whimsical and fun.
Rather than begin by painting the duck, we painted the background first, creating a negative space, or shape, for where the duck would go. Then back in with yellow to begin forming the duck shape.
Again some negative painting around the beak to leave the canvas white. Then we added the red beak but let some of the white of the canvas show through for the highlights on the beak.

My persona is about as far away from glitter and sparkles as it gets. My mom though reveled in both. Fortunately I still have earrings that she gave me.

This year my baubles are not hanging on a tree, since I won't put one up. It's the first year in ages that I'm living alone in my own apartment and since I'm not a big fan of Christmas I don't have to follow the rules. So I put some of my baubles up on the lamp above my dinner table and I love it!
All New Scavenger Hunt 134 - 8. Glitter-Sparkles
One of my favorite crafts to do at our public events at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. The kids love learning how to make these fish prints. Fortunately, we do not use real fish in the traditional style of Japanese fish prints. Our "models" are rubber and easy to clean!
The kids LOVE to add glitter to their fish prints. And so do I... haha! Their eyes get big when they walk up to the table... "Glitter! Wow! My Mom banned glitter from our house!"

I found this Santa statue in a local greenhouse. I him weird and creepy. I don't get why he is hanging out on a bench with a tropical plant

My friend made this at a community education class many years ago. She was recently going to send it to the dump when moving house so I rehomed it in my garden.
This is my wild card. Photographed in Auckland a number of years ago.
Not only is this sphinx with a woman's head weird in itself, but what is even more weird is that the head of this sphinx, by sculptor John Cheere, is a likeness of Gladys Deacon, second wife of the 9th Duke of Marlborough.
I would think she'd have been most insulted!

I thought this was going to be a difficult challenge. But as I was walking back to my car the other day, I looked up and found this blue cow with the sea creatures all over it staring at me! No idea what it's about, but it is definitely weird!
