Callitriche sonderi (matted waterstarwort) is a small, semi-aquatic, mat-forming native annual herb occurring on river flood plains or other places subject to periodic inundation. The Tasmanian Seed Conservation Centre (TSCC) Manger, James Wood, assisted by TSCC and Australian Plants Society Tasmania volunteers collected a number of plants from Four Springs Lake to grow on and harvest seeds from over the next few weeks. This image shows how the plants were laid out in plastic bags to prevent crushing damage during transit back to the TSCC. This activity was carried out under authorised permit and permissions.
