Neal's General Store was located at the 4 corners in Harlowe.
Tom Neal was stationed at St. Emile, Quebec before going overseas to Yorkshire England in the Medical Corps during WWII. After returning home he bought the general store on the north west corner from Hugh and Jean Hillier and ran it until 1962 when he sold it to John and Joan Flieler. Five years later he started another general store back on the north east corner. He operated it until 1985 eventually closing it and buying back his previous store (above), now significantly expanded from John and Joan. He ran it until his death at 87 in 2001. Cottagers and tourists on nearby Big Gull and Kashwakamak lakes became used to buying everything needed for their camps, right down to their olives at Tom's stores.
