The Flickr Tuxiecat Image Generatr

I've never had a cat so invested in watching films at such a young age! As soon as we turn on the projector, Jarvis is on my lap watching everything from bleak Finnish films to French new wave to 50s black and white Japanese films. He likes them all!

So, it was no surprise to me to come across this gem of the actual Jarvis Cocker, lead singer from Pulp, in the Criterion Closet talking about his favorite film picks:

I tend to avoid most social media (aside from Flickr obviously) in terms of brain drain but I do also log all of the films I watch and I always note if the film has a cat in it or not, which I find is often an overlooked aspect of film watching and critique these days.

If you've ever wanted to be immortal but did not prefer to get bitten on the neck by a yucky human, you could always go the Count Catula route! Count Catula can be very playful and has a lot of fun purrs while he's turning you into a vampire! Highly recommended but his bookings are quite exclusive!

I am a little late on this because I was traveling home for family and sort of missed a few things, hopefully gained other things in terms of the full human experience. You know how it goes. This is just a cell phone shot but I loved the light in it. Jarvis is sitting in my window box with my plants and my ripening avocado and a figurine of the rooster a grandma of mine now existing in a different reality had collected toppled over (probably by his super long tail). I loved the shadows in this too (but most of all him.) Jarvis Cocker, is, of course, one of the most handsome cats who has ever lived and so he gets away with waking me up for treats in the middle of the night, which is not my favorite thing about him!

I adopted Jarvis the summer after Trump was in office. I decided my brain needed a distraction from constant panic over the sad state of my country. Really feeling anxious about the recent debate with Biden and Trump so maybe I'll be getting a fourth cat soon.

Only those who are famous will understand the grueling life Jarvis Cocker might lead in his very own home. He has to deal with constantly being adored and a violation of space. He is instantly recognizable in his own home whether he happens to be roaming through the kitchen for treats, lounging in is living room, or taking over every inch of bed space possible. His owners are caressing and kissing him incessantly, acknowledging no physical boundaries whatsoever that he might have. He has to sleep 23 hours each day just to still look so handsome. The pressure is on! Because of this, he must get into the drug of choice for cats everywhere, catnip! He hits it hard, rolling around in the nip as if he could banish the weight of the world. And, then, things don’t seem so bad anymore afterwards. We can hardly fault him for this indulgence, especially on his 6th birthday!

I am trying out a Lensbaby Spark 2.0.

I have to remind a lot of kids around Halloween that black cats aren't scary and they aren't bad luck. Black cats have the most docile characteristics of any cats genetically so the idea that they would have developed a bad reputation is not based on Science or reality!

Katie Isabella looks pensive here because I told her I may close our Flickr account. There are too many overwhelming things going on to allow me the mental energy to go looking for photo opportunities these past three years. I have loved the friends I have made and the exquisite photos I have enjoyed that you posted. Those of you who have been loyal visitors and commenters, how I want you to know that I always always appreciated that. I am still in the final stages of making up my mind and I will miss the comments on my photos. Each one of them. They gave me joy because I always want to make someone happy.

It has been a wonderful set of years. I will know soon what I will do. But I did want to say thank you. xxoo

This is my little one. Sound asleep a few minutes ago..her wee mouth open, her fang tips showing, the tip of her tongue and that little nose..oh my. <3

I helped mommy all day and now I need my nap. I am exhausted after snoopervising while my human brother was here. I had to keep watch all night in his room to make sure no mean ol' raccoons or scary ol' opossums come to the window and bother him! (ME!) They might scare him (me) and make him meow and hiss (me) and scream (me).

I fell asleep watching Birdie TV out of this window. The sunpuddle just lulled me right off to dreamland. I accidentally got my talio caught between my legs. I hope it doesn't fall off or anything. Mommy will wake me for suppers soon. I have hearts, livers and gravy. Can't WAIT! My fave.
