Twenty tear old Whitney Osugwe of the United States in qualifying action of the 2022 NYJTL Bronx Open against Katarzyna Kawa of Poland on the Victor Kiam Stadium Court at the Cary Leeds Center for Tennis and Learning in Crotona Park in the Charlotte Gardens neighborhood of the New York City borough of the Bronx.
Whitney won the juniors segment of the 2017 French Open to become the first American to win the girls’ title in 28 years.
Osugwe advanced to the next round winning in two sets 6-2, 1-0, after her opponent withdrew due to an injury.
