On October 30th, Pacific National operated the final 9837 empty flour train to Manildra before ownership was handed to Southern Shorthaul Railroad. 8116, 8134, 8141 & 8158 were seen taking Manildra’s empty flour train through Hurlstone Park.
From now on, all Manildra services would be operated by their own MAN class locomotives which SSR crew would be provided for. Progress rail was unable to deliver the rest of the locomotives in time and had to hire some of Aurizon’s fleet for the time being.
Due to engineering work the line between Dún Laoghaire and Greystones, DART services terminated at platform 3 (bay platform) in Dún Laoghaire on Saturday 14 September 2024.
