BLUE-AND-YELLOW TANAGER Male Pipraeidea bonariensis. A male Blue-and-yellow Tanager is eating tiny red fruit in a treetop at the Bosque Protector Jerusalem a little to the north of Guayllabamba in northern Ecuador at 9:36 AM on November 12, 2018.

The Blue-and-yellow Tanager belongs to the family Thraupidae and is resident in much of South America, being found from Ecuador south to Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia and northern Chile. The Blue-and-yellow Tanager formerly bore the scientific name Thraupis bonariensis.

The Blue-and-yellow Tanager is a member of the family Thraupidae and has an extensive geographical distribution in South America, occurring from Ecuador south to Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia and northern Chile. The Blue-and-yellow Tanager formerly went by the scientific name Thraupis bonariensis.
