EN: To surround the Halberstadt Lakes (former gravel pits) the railway line and river Holtemme are lead parallel for some miles between Groß Quenstedt and Halberstadt. RE 69382 will soon be arriving to Halberstadt. This train is formed by a replacement trainset instead of the ordinary DMU to offer as much place as possible during the 9€-Ticket periode.

RE 69382 wird gleich Halberstadt erreicht haben. Er besteht statt des planmäßigen Triebwagens aus einer Ersatzgarnitur, um während der Gültigkeit des 9€-Tickets möglichst viele Sitzplätze anbieten zu können.
The Monmouthshire Railway Society were renowned for their South Wales DMU tours which often had an ambitious itinerary but also reached the ends of the more unusual freight lines in the area as well.
The railtour seen here is the "Caerwent Cannonball II" which was formed of class 116 DMU set C397 with a 108 trailer and class 118 set C472. Tour participants are seen wandering round within the dock sidings at Newport South Docks. A far cry from modern tours where alighting at the ends of freight branches is strictly forbidden.

Mr. Gauze, relaxing on his porch after having spent the morning
