June 28, at Doña Dora, El Queremal, Valle de Cauca, Colombia.
Here are male and female Spot-crowned Barbets (Capito maculicoronatus), one of three species of barbets we encountered at this location. It's a fairly common bird from eastern Panama into Colombia, east to Antioquia Department, and south to the Valle del Cauca Department. It inhabits wet primary forests in lowlands and hill country and usually stays between 600 and 900 meters above sea level.
