La guerra a Síria, que va esclatar fa tot just deu anys, ha colpejat el país de manera terrible, però la vida sempre s’obre pas encara que sigui enmig de la runa. En aquesta foto del 2017 es veu Mohammad Mahiedine, un veí d’Alep que abans del conflicte es dedicava a col·leccionar cotxes clàssics, ara destruïts. Es resistia a abandonar casa seva, tot i que estava mig derruïda i sense subministrament elèctric. Passava les hores escoltant un vell tocadiscs dels que funcionen accionant una manovella.
