A view from the Lewis & Clark State Historical Site and Camp River Dubois, across the Mississippi River to its confluence at the mouth of the Missouri River located to the right side of the photo.
Due to the many changes in the courses of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers in the last 200+ years, the precise location of Camp River Dubois is not known. The location of the Lewis & Clark State Historical Site is the best approximation.
Where the Wenatchee River meets the Columbia River
The reddish Alllegheny and green Monongahela converge to become the Ohio River. Coal barges and towboat at near shore.

A district in Lyon where the two rivers meet, the Saone and the Rhone. It was originally an in industrial area with port and rail links which for the last 25 years has been redeveloped as a retail and entertainment district. At the quayside is the Vaporetto which calls at three or four stops up the Saone, and was how we had arrived here. The commercial mall is on the left. The double deck Rhone-Alp regional train is just departing 13/7/2012
