Such is the pace of modernisation on Indian Railways, everything seems to be getting swept away in the name of progress. This is the platform side of Faqar Sar. Someone has lit a fire of damp leaves in the hope of generating some warmth on this cold winters morning. I bet the station master is impressed as the smoke seems to be heading straight towards his office! 29th January 2023.

Not all Indian Railway stations are huge. This is the tiny Faqar Sar (between Bathinda and Sri Ganga Nagar) in the Punjab on 29th January 2023. It was a cold foggy morning and remained overcast and chilly all day. Winters in Northern India can be cold.
