In 1990 I was admitted to the Masters of Fine Arts in Photography program at NIU. This series is my MFA Porfolio/Show.
The focus of my portfolio was the children in the neighborhood i had grown up in, my students and their environment.
By 1995 I had completed my comprehensives, final show, thesis (Photography as a Propaganda Tool in Eastern Europe Between the World Wars) and 54 of the 60 credit hours needed for an MFA.
At that time two life events interfered: I lost my teaching position and I got a divorce.
Since I had completed all the requirements for an MFA, my graduate committee and the School of Art granted me an MA in Photography (40 credit hours) with the understanding that I could finish the last six hours at a later date.
Picking up the pieces of post divorce and finding another teaching position got in the way and I never went back.
Not a major life's regret, but a regret non the less.
Cameras used: Mamiya c330, Leica IIIc.
