Awaiting the arrival of a route qualified driver in order to depart from Charlton is loaded PN grain service 9148 to North Geelong behind G536/XR552/XR551 on Thursday the 11th of July 2024. This train had loaded at the nearby Charlton AWB (Towards the rear of the train) earlier in the day and was one of several services to the township during the month.
In addition to Standard gauge traffic, PN operate a handful of Broad gauge rakes in Victoria and into parts of Southern New South Wales, servicing the remaining VicTrack BG corridors such as the Sea Lake, Manangatang, Piangil, Deniliquin and Tocumwal lines, these rakes are based out of the yard in North Geelong and discharge their product at the nearby Geelong Grain Loop.

The last few hoppers on PN grain service 9256 from North Geelong are in the process of being unloaded at the Geelong grain loop with assistance from G536/XR550 on Sunday the 21st of April 2024. This consist arrived earlier in the day as loaded train 9156 from Quambatook, awaiting the majority of the day for its path into the grain loop to discharge.
Once complete, the train will change it’s train number to 9255 and return to North Geelong Yard via the arrival siding at Thompson Rd before pushing back into the yard to form 9153 empties back to Quambatook overnight.
