Some results from my DWARF 3 smart telescope that was my 60th birthday present last year.

1: B 33, the Horsehead Nebula in Orion
2: the Sun, with plenty of sunspots

This is R-channel of the original frame taken with dual narrowband filter. The dual narrowband filter IDAS NB12 has relatively wide band width 12nm in half value width, and it is suitable even for super wide lenses. Starnet++v2.0 made the frame clearer.

We can see nebulae clearer than before. Whitish reflection nebula, Witch Head Nebula got far clearer in full length near the center.

Strait dark filaments got less visible on this version. It means that we could recognize them with existence of small stars.

In general, we can recognize something with absence of something. For example, our retinal cells, more especially cone cells have almost no sensibility at wavelength of hydrogen-alpha light, but we can feel existence of the vast hydrogen-alpha emission, Gum nebula as area of fewer stars as below:

We could not recognize fine dark filaments on this starless version, which was clearly visible before starless conversion as below.

There look to be many straight dark filaments east to west or vice versa divergent toward west or from orion toward Eridanus almost all over the area. North is up, and east is to the left on the frame.

Mosaic image made from three hours of exposures (1080 ten second exposures) stacked with Seestar S50 from my back garden.

At first sight, to the naked eye, the Orion constellation doesn't look special (except that it contains a lot of bright stars). But exactly the opposite is true! It hides many nebulae visible with the telescope, but the Great Orion Nebula can even be seen with the naked eye! However, the biggest amount of nebulae, gas, and dust in this region can be revealed only with a camera.

All the main objects you will find with their names when you swipe.

I took this portrait of Orion and its surroundings on the 28th of December at the top of Kozákov Hill in the north of the Czech Republic under the sky of Bortle 5 (or a bit better). In the end, thin clouds rolled in but didn't influence the result much. I used a modified Canon 6D and a common 50 mm lens.

Simply, it's one of the richest regions in the night sky, and I am happy I finally made this deeper view of it.

One clear night, with a 1/2 moon.
