Three of these ladies came with pierced ears but no jewelry. Only Miss Bella Parker was sold with earrings. She was a secondhand gift, and only had one of her studs when I got her. I had a ton of fun making earrings for Rainbow High dolls. They have enormous heads that can fit larger sized charms easily. Sure, they are tacky...but that's just my personal aesthetic when it comes to accessorizing my dollies. Anyways, both Ruby and Sunny are from the same collection. Ruby was a gift; I found Sunny nearly two years later at a thrift store. I took inspiration from the earrings I made for Ruby before. I don't have a lot of red charms in my jewelry supply stash. That's where these polymer clay spacer beads came in handy. I also liked that I had white ones that were in the same design. I was able to mimic the stripes on Ruby's cheerleading uniform. I added some black breads that are a different shape, in order to ensure they all stayed on the head pins. The polymer clay spacer beads are made for bracelets (they were from an Amazon Vine kit I got years ago). So the holes are quite large. If I want to use them for earrings, I have to stack other things beneath them.
For Sunny I went a similar route, but I changed things up a little. I wanted her and Ruby's earrings to look cohesive but not be identical. I added these amazing pompoms, which are also from Amazon Vine. They are a more golden yellow color, as opposed to neon, which matches Sunny's hair wonderfully!!! I thought pompoms would be a fitting play on the fact that she's a cheerleader.
Bella is a classy lady, who wears a tweed ensemble. I didn't want to bog her down with chunky charms or anything that seemed to "immature" for her personal aesthetic. I liked the look of these tear drop shaped pearls for her. I added in some black and baby pink beads to tie in the colors of her outfit. Granted, this pair is quite long, but the beads themselves aren't too bulky.
Amaya Raine was my favorite doll to make earrings for from this collage! I was dying to try out a resin mold I'd gotten at the Dollar Tree some weeks before. She was on sale at Target, and once I realized she didn't have factory earrings, I knew she was my test subject. I liked the look of these rectangles on her. I could easily fit the polymer clay fruit pieces I wanted to use. I picked colors that matched her rainbow outfit. The fruit theme was something I added for fun. I decided not to put any glitter or coloring into the mold, since I wanted the fruit pieces to stand out. I have to make them one at a time, because the mold only comes with one of each shape. So I have to pay close attention when mapping out where each thing goes into the mold, since I obviously want them to match when done!
