-2020 Series 2 Bella Parker
-2023 Sparkle Slime Amaya Raine
-2020 Cheer Sunny Anderson

Three of these ladies came with pierced ears but no jewelry. Only Miss Bella Parker was sold with earrings. She was a secondhand gift, and only had one of her studs when I got her. I had a ton of fun making earrings for Rainbow High dolls. They have enormous heads that can fit larger sized charms easily. Sure, they are tacky...but that's just my personal aesthetic when it comes to accessorizing my dollies. Anyways, both Ruby and Sunny are from the same collection. Ruby was a gift; I found Sunny nearly two years later at a thrift store. I took inspiration from the earrings I made for Ruby before. I don't have a lot of red charms in my jewelry supply stash. That's where these polymer clay spacer beads came in handy. I also liked that I had white ones that were in the same design. I was able to mimic the stripes on Ruby's cheerleading uniform. I added some black breads that are a different shape, in order to ensure they all stayed on the head pins. The polymer clay spacer beads are made for bracelets (they were from an Amazon Vine kit I got years ago). So the holes are quite large. If I want to use them for earrings, I have to stack other things beneath them.

For Sunny I went a similar route, but I changed things up a little. I wanted her and Ruby's earrings to look cohesive but not be identical. I added these amazing pompoms, which are also from Amazon Vine. They are a more golden yellow color, as opposed to neon, which matches Sunny's hair wonderfully!!! I thought pompoms would be a fitting play on the fact that she's a cheerleader.

Bella is a classy lady, who wears a tweed ensemble. I didn't want to bog her down with chunky charms or anything that seemed to "immature" for her personal aesthetic. I liked the look of these tear drop shaped pearls for her. I added in some black and baby pink beads to tie in the colors of her outfit. Granted, this pair is quite long, but the beads themselves aren't too bulky.

Amaya Raine was my favorite doll to make earrings for from this collage! I was dying to try out a resin mold I'd gotten at the Dollar Tree some weeks before. She was on sale at Target, and once I realized she didn't have factory earrings, I knew she was my test subject. I liked the look of these rectangles on her. I could easily fit the polymer clay fruit pieces I wanted to use. I picked colors that matched her rainbow outfit. The fruit theme was something I added for fun. I decided not to put any glitter or coloring into the mold, since I wanted the fruit pieces to stand out. I have to make them one at a time, because the mold only comes with one of each shape. So I have to pay close attention when mapping out where each thing goes into the mold, since I obviously want them to match when done!

My Handmade Monster High Earrings (part 9)

Dolls in photo (from left to right):
-2011 Skull Shores Draculaura
-2012 Scaris Abbey
-2014 "1st Edition" Bunny Blanc X2

Skull Shores Draculaura is modeling a Gloom Beach swimsuit. I decided to make her matching earrings, since her original ones were long gone. The bright yellow and magenta colors won't suit her Skull Shores swimsuit, in the event I get it someday. But these were too fun to make, so I don't mind that they are specific to this outfit. I used polymer clay beads from Amazon Vine for this pair. I connected them using gold jump rings. It gives them a nice full look, without being too bulky.

Scaris Abbey was easy to design earrings for. Her dress was the main inspiration--she has crystal like icicles printed all over her outfit. They reminded me of crystal charms I had in my jewelry supply stash. The larger purple ones were from a kid's art kit, if I'm not mistaken. The colors work wonderfully with the dress, and they feel very geometric.

Both of my Bunny Blanc dolls were sans earrings when I got them. I know they aren't Monster High ladies, but I usually combine them for earring collages. I was inspired by their Alice in Wonderland theme. I went for these large silver charms on the first bunny doll, that have an antique feel. They go well with the vibe of her dress. I added in a few light green and purple beads to compliment the pattern on the skirt. I used the same small green beads on my second Bunny. However, I paired these with teal balls (I got those from Walmart's $1 baggie section). I went with the "hand made" charms, because they reminded me of the labels on the drinks/food Alice consumed in the movie. She is after all the daughter of the White Rabbit!

Dolls in photo (from left to right):
-1989 Wedding Fantasy Barbie
-1997 Movin' Groovin' Barbie
-1997 My Wedding Day Kelsey
-2007 Fashion Collection Hannah Montana

Wedding Fantasy Barbie was easy to design earrings for. I consider these very simple and "tasteful." Especially compared to my wackier designs. I like gaudy jewelry, what can I say (cough, cough, I'm looking at you Movin' Groovin' and Hannah Montana). Anyways, I only have the top to Barbie's original wedding gown. But these earrings will match that fashion, in the event I get it. That's the nice thing about bridal gowns...they are almost always white and fancy. I had loads of different sized faux pearls to choose from, and these tear drop shaped ones.

The earrings on Movin' Groovin' Barbie suit her name...they are groovy. I love the neon colors of these chain links. These are from Michael's kid's section. I ordered them online when there was a sale, and I needed a little more in my cart to qualify for free shipping. I don't recall seeing these in store when I've browsed the kid aisles. I knew these would work for Barbies, especially ones that sport neon attire. They click together, so you don't need jump rings to attach them.

Ah, another bride! Kelsey has a slightly more colorful dress than Wedding Fantasy Barbie. I adore the pink and blue details. Color is the spice of life (that's why I will never understand why grey and white home decor is trendy right now). I used very tiny pearls for her earrings, but jazzed them up with some classy but bright pink and blue crystals.

Miss Hannah was a natural choice for these star charms. I got them from Michael's kid's section too. They work really well for American Girls because of their large size. But of course, I utilize them for Barbie people too. Are they massive? Yes! But the purple color matched Hannah's top AND stars are often incorporated into her attire. So they seemed very fitting.

My Handmade Barbie Earrings (part 39)

Dolls in photo (from left to right):
-2003 Cali Girl Barbie
-2010 So In Style Pastry Chandra
-1995 The Original Arizona Jean Company Barbie
-1989 Barbie and the All Stars

Two of these gals I had for years...eons before I made them earrings. I acquired Cali Girl Barbie in 2019, and Chandra in 2014. They still had parts of their factory earrings in their ears. I must have overlooked Cali Girl Barbie's broken ones, when I got her in a flea market lot. As for Chandra, one of her hoops was permanently bent in a funny shape. When I was going through my Barbies for Flickr photo updates, I noted their earrings could use upgrades. I was inspired by Cali Girl Barbie's factory necklace. I had almost the exact beads in my collection--little orange and yellow balls and pearly tear drops.

Chandra was my first doll to try out these chain links from Michael's kids' section. I ordered these online, when there was a sale (and I needed scrapbook paper for a new backdrop, which wasn't available in stores). In order to qualify for free shipping I decided to look at jewelry stuff. But the trick is always check the kids' supplies first, since they are cheaper. These chain links stood out to me because of their bold colors. I knew they'd work well on Barbies, and these colors match Chandra's fashion pack flawlessly!

Arizona Jeans Barbie still had her original earrings in when I bought her at the Salvation Army in 2024. Upon further inspection, I noted that one of the hoops had fallen off the stud. So why not make her a pair too! These heart jump rings were from Amazon (I got them for free via the Amazon Vine program). I thought hoops fit her classy vibe, but these red hearts matched the Arizona Jean logo on her tee!

All Stars Barbie wears a fashion pack too. These earrings definitely don't match her original ensemble, which I do not currently have. But I couldn't help but craft a special pair to match the fashion she is sporting. It has a Hawaiian vibe to it, so I used these polymer clay flowers. I have a few sets of these--some I got from Michael's kid's section, others were from Amazon Vine. They are literally the same polymer charms, just packaged in a different way. They work well for doll jewelry, although the holes are slightly large. So you have to put smaller beads as stoppers to keep them in place.

My Handmade Bratz Earrings (part 55)

Dolls in photo (from left to right):
-2003 Funk 'N' Glow Sasha
-2005 Rock Angelz Roxxi
-2021 Jimmy Paul Roxxi
-2008 Wintertime Collection Cloe

I can't pick a favorite pair of earrings from this collage, since I had so much fun making all of them. I suppose that Wintertime Collection Cloe has my least fave, but they are perfect for her (in my opinion). I did not get Cloe with her original outfit...just the pair of pants. Since I had loads of extra Wintertime Wonderland Dana stuff, I paired Cloe's outfit with pieces from Dana. The color scheme is purple, so these earrings will also match Cloe's original ensemble (in the event I acquire more pieces). The rectangular beads are actually mirrored on one side. I found these in Walmart 98 cent baggie section years ago. I still had some leftover in 2023. As for the smaller purple beads, they too are from Walmart's 98 cent section. I got these in several different sizes, specifically for my childhood Garden Party Barbie. But you can never go wrong with purple beads when it comes to dollies.

Jimmy Paul Roxxi's earrings are the oldest pair in the collage. I don't get that many earring-less Bratz these days. So she waited around in a folder on my computer for about a year, before I could finish this photo set. She comes with pierced ears, but oddly no jewelry. As a collector doll, I was surprised by this. Since she is Pride themed, I went for a rainbow pair of earrings. I used little round beads from the kid's section at Walmart. Some were from a bracelet making kit, and others were from a $5 tub I bought earlier that summer.

Rock Angelz Roxxi has some AMAZING heart shaped jump rings. I still haven't quite figured out the best way to utilize them. Since they are jump rings, they have a little gap at the top of the heart. This makes them dangle somewhat awkwardly. They won't stay in a fixed position. But I still think they are rad, and I got them for free via the Amazon Vine program. I'm always on the lookout for heart shaped jewelry supplies for my plastic friends. These come in a wide range of colors, and also have a really cool texture. Naturally, I picked red and black hearts to go with Roxxi's outfits.

Funk 'N' Glow Sasha was from the same bin as Roxxi (the "Crazy for Bratz Kidz Bin"). I also happened to get some of her beads around the same time via Amazon Vine. I noted a super awesome pack of patterned beads in the Vine section. I checked the measurements and compared them to other ball beads in my collection. I loved that these were a smaller size, but still had details. I knew I could use them on just about any doll, due to their petite construction. I made many of my other Funk 'N' Glow dolls earrings years ago. But I wanted Sasha's to look like they were made around the same time. I took inspiration from the chains I used back then frequently in my jewelry designs. I used gold jump rings to make a faux chain, and added the patterned balls and these solid gold ones. The little purple beads (the super tiny ones) were salvaged from a kid's bracelet that was in the "Crazy for Bratz Kidz Lot." The golden balls were from one of my childhood bracelets my grandmother gave me.

Dolls in photo (from left to right):
-1998 Ballerina Dreams Barbie
-2007 Lip Smacker Birthday Teresa
-1997 Movin' Groovin' Barbie
-1986 Jewel Secrets Barbie

Ballerina Dreams Barbie has the classiest, tamest pair of earrings in the collage. Admittedly, they are still quite long and bulky. I don't have her original outfit at this time, so she wears another doll's skating dress. I made these earrings to match said getup. I kept the color scheme simple--white and pink. The pink tear drop shaped charms were from a $5 tub of kid's beads I got at Walmart in 2022. I have loads of faux pearls from all sorts of places (deconstructed jewelry, the Dollar Tree, loose ones at the flea market, Walmart, etc). I don't know where these originated from, but they worked well for Barbie. They give her pair of earrings a classy, demure look.

Lip Smacker Birthday Teresa's pair were also inspired by the outfit I dressed her in. The kid who owned her previously must have liked yanking out factory earrings (Teresa and Ballerina Dreams Barbie were both from the "Crazy for Bratz Kidz Lot"). I dressed her in Really Rosy Barbie's ensemble. It looks amazing with her makeup and hair. These earrings won't match Teresa's original ensemble. But I'm sure I'll find another doll for them in the possible future event I find her correct dress. These heart shaped jump rings were from Amazon Vine. I got them for free in exchange for doing a review. Most of the jewelry stuff that gets listed via Amazon Vine are those bracelet making kits with polymer clay beads. But every once in a while something super unique pops up. These hearts came in a variety of colors--there were even two different shades of pink included! I used crystals from a kid's bracelet set I bought at Walmart circa 2017 to finish the look.

Speaking of kid's bracelet making kits, Movin' Groovin' Barbie also has earrings made from one. I love these simple, neon colored balls. They are sized perfectly for dolls and come in fun shades. The blue and green ones were an exact match to Barbie's loud patterned dress, so I couldn't help but use them.

Jewel Secrets Barbie has parts of earrings that were made from her previous owner. I really liked the pair that she arrived with, so I wanted to keep parts of them for the pair I made. I changed her into this awesome fashion pack, so I wanted to incorporate more colors into the design. These polymer clay spacer beads were from the Amazon Vine program. I knew they'd be handy when I ordered them in late 2022. They are super tiny and thin, and can be used in so many different ways. My particular set isn't huge, but it has enough colors to match many different outfits. The pink and dark blue went flawlessly with this fashion pack. The crystal charms were from Barbie's original pair of earrings.

-2008 World Familiez Yasmin + Her Mom
-2007 Horseback Fun Dana
-2007 Super Secret Manicure Bedroom Dana
-2007 Sleep-Over Adventure Meygan

I so rarely find Bratz Kidz secondhand, that I don't have the pleasant task of making earrings for them too often. However, I was delighted when I got to construct not just one, but FIVE pairs in 2023 (when I purchased the "Crazy for Bratz Kidz Lot"). Forever Diamondz Yasmin didn't make this collage, and will probably have to wait an eternity for three other dolls to fill hers out (in order to be posted here on Flickr). Anyways, these were the more fun pairs I made, which is why I prioritized putting them up first. Three of the pairs all utilize charms from an Amazon set I got through the Vine program. I knew they'd be handy and perfectly sized for dolls. Even though the Kidz are short, they have wonderfully large heads which are great for designing earrings. I picked the candies for World Familiez Yasmin, because the colors complimented the fashion pack I dressed her in. I also mimicked the striped pattern on the sleeves, by using seed beads. Horseback Fun Dana's shirt has a unicorn on it. Had I owned unicorn charms, I definitely would have picked them for this pair. But alas, I do not have any at this time. But these polymer clay flowers were PERFECT in terms of color. And, if you look around the unicorn, you can see little flowers are part of the design. I'm not sure if these ones were from Amazon or from the kids' section at Michael's (they are literally the same, but sold at both places). Sleep-Over Adventure Meygan utilizes star charms from the same Amazon pack. The light purple and pink shades were an exact match to her pajamas, so I had to use them. I also added a few spacer beads from a different set, that were the same shade of pink. The little polymer clay pink flowers on Super Secret Manicure Bedroom Dana's pair of earrings were from the kid's section at Michael's. I bought them with a birthday gift card about a year prior, and discovered they were PERFECT for dollies. I like to use them in a variety of different ways. For Dana's earrings, I made them into chain links, so you could see the petal shapes easier. Sometimes I will layer them more, so they create little bunches instead.

My Handmade Monster High Earrings (part 8) by A Thousand Splendid Dolls

My Handmade Monster High Earrings (part 8)

Dolls in photo (from left to right):
-2013 Freaky Fusion Fusion-Inspired Ghouls Operetta
-2013 "1st Edition" Jane Boolittle
-2014 Boo York City Schemes Nefera
-2012 Ghoul's Night Out "4 Pack" Ghoulia

Operetta doesn't actually come with earrings. She has a pierced ear to accommodate her face mask. However, whether or not I have the mask for an Operetta doll, I almost always make her an earring. That way she has something to wear in her ear, when I don't feel like using the mask. This Freaky Fusion lady comes with a super cool purple outfit. I had these sparkly charms and small purple beads that were the PERFECT color match. The red bead accents her hair color and the tie belt she has. I believe I got all of these in an assort 98 cent baggie at Walmart. I decided to keep her earring relatively simple, which is why I didn't opt for any crazy charms.

Jane Boolittle probably has my favorite earrings from this collage. My doll arrived with cut hair. Fortunately I was able to sort it out. She is supposed to come with her hair all tied back into a curly ponytail. My doll has straight hair, since I boil washed her...which honestly makes her look like a pineapple. I decided to have lots of fun with her earrings, since all her tresses are swept out of the way. I don't have her original outfit unfortunately. However, the Inner Monster ensemble she sports instead is even more fun. I took inspiration from its vibrant color palette. I chose translucent beads rather than opaque ones intentionally. There is a clear colored plastic ruffle on the Inner Monster outfit. I figured that the translucent beads would compliment this feature. I incorporated little hearts to accent the print on the outfit. Originally, I wasn't planning on utilizing any small beads. But when I made my first test earring, I felt like it was missing something. I chose to add little black seed beads to break up the rainbow colors. They also pick up the black mesh collar and details of the outfit Jane sports!

Boo York Nefera is a classy lady. Therefore, I didn't want to overdo it with her earrings. These ones are quite long, but not bulky. I chose teal crystals that match the dress and Nefera's locks. I had the metal tiki looking charms for ages (from a 98 cent Walmart baggie if I'm not mistaken). I thought they look very old/ancient...fitting for a mummy. The rectangular metal charms with crystals were recycled from another doll. Nefera was part of the "Mountains of Monsters Lot." One of the Barbies had these charms in her ears. I ended up changing that doll's outfit, so the earrings someone else made didn't match anymore. I LOVED these awesome charms though, so I incorporated them into Nefera's design.

Ghouls' Night Out Ghoulia was the perfect candidate for these gaudy red circles. I haven't the foggiest idea what their original purpose was. They were in a large pack of kids' beads I got at Walmart for $5. There were also purple ones just like it in the tub. I kept them because I figured there would be a few cool ways I could utilize them for dollies. Turns out, they work great as hoops!!! I added a few jump rings so they would dangle further down Ghoulia's head. She has all her hair tied up in a ponytail, so I like the way these clunky earrings balance her look. Plus, in the event I find Ghoulia's original dress, the jewelry I made will match it!

My Handmade Barbie Earrings (part 36)

Dolls in photo (from left to right):
-1986 Barbie and the Rockers
-1995 Jewel Hair Mermaid Midge
-2016 Rainbow Hair Barbie
-1985 Dream Glow Barbie

My Barbie and the Rockers lady came with a pair of handmade earrings her previous owner gave her. However, I wanted something EXTRA spicy for her. She is from the 80s after all, and wears a gaudy hot pink and silver star getup. I recycled the simple silver stars on my Jewel Hair Mermaid Midge, shown beside Barbie. I also took earrings from Rollerblade Kira, to make these for Midge. I changed Rollerblade Kira's outfit (she was from the "Mountains of Monsters Lot, just like Rocker Barbie). The beautiful pair of earrings her previous owner made would no longer match the different outfit. I just had to use these fabulous green beads right away. I ended up combining Rocker Barbie and Kira's pairs to make one set for Midge. I can't claim credit for the arrangement of the little green beads--they were placed this way by someone else (who makes wonderful handmade jewelry might I add). I like that the stars compliment Midge's jewel mermaid aesthetic. But the green beads match the fashion pack I dressed her in.

For my Rocker Barbie, I wondered from the get go if I could get away with using these HUGE star charms. I bought them at Michael's with a gift card for my birthday in 2022. I mostly thought of American Girls when I picked them out. However, I figured fashion dollies could use them too, if they had large enough heads. Barbie somehow can actually pull them off. I didn't have any other pink stars to utilize, so my only choice were these massive ones. And I just HAD to incorporate stars...her outfit is covered in them! I added a couple solid silver beads to tie in the her silver pants (and for a bit of length so the stars would hang more flatteringly).

Speaking of stars, my Rainbow Hair Barbie has them too. Her stars are much daintier. I got these clear star charms from a bracelet at a thrift store for 75 cents. I always keep my eyes pealed for cool, inexpensive jewelry I can recycle for dolls. You don't have to spend a ton of money to make fun pieces for your plastic friends. I don't have this doll's original ensemble, so I based her earrings all around the fashion pack she wears. I went for a bold black, pink, and star theme to match the fashion. These are easily my favorite pair from the collage. They do SO much for Barbie, and this dress is one of my faves in my collection.

I stole the idea I had for Ghouls' Night Out Ghoulia's earrings for my beloved Dream Glow Barbie. My sister picked out this 80s fashion pack for her to don, since she does not have her factory dress at this time. Barbie's not mad about it though...she was decapitated when I got her (her neck joint had oddly snapped in half). Anyways, The dress she sports is very sleek, simple, and elegant. I didn't want her jewelry to be too distracting. That's why I chose one statement charm...these awesome purple hoops. I wanted them to be large, but not overly detailed...these hoops did the trick. Yes, they are quite gaudy, and definitely not for everyone. But I love the way these compliment not just the dress, but also Barbie's fabulous purple eyes.

My Handmade Disney Doll Earrings (Part 2) by A Thousand Splendid Dolls

My Handmade Disney Doll Earrings (Part 2)

Dolls in photo (from left to right):
-2000 Disney Store Talking Disney Princess "Vanity" Cinderella
-2008 Disney Store Royal Collection Sleeping Beauty
-1997 Paris Elegance Anastasia
-2015 JC Penney Wardrobe Set Jasmine

It took me forever to complete this collage. I don't get that many Disney dolls with empty ear holes. My Cinderella doll on the far left I've had since 2017...just goes to show you how long ago I made her pair. Anyways, I dressed Cindy in a Sparkling dress by Mattel, since she lacked her original attire. I kept her pair classy and simple...which is honestly not my norm. I thought that the pearls and translucent pink beads would compliment the daintiness of the dress.

For my Disney Store Aurora, I knew I could get away with doing something a little more extravagant. Her dress is lined with thick fur and gold trim. She also sports a very huge winter headband that I made. I wanted her earrings to be long and noticeable, but not bulky. I figured if they were too chunky, they'd look odd with her head wear. I took gold rods from a deconstructed necklace, and added little pink crystals to dangle off them. Obviously I went for a pink and gold theme, to coordinate with her winter ensemble.

Anastasia was wearing one of her original earrings still when I rescued her from the flea market in 2022. Yes, I know she's not Disney, but I included her in this collage because she is an animated character. Anyways, as much as I loved her lone factory earring, I thought it would be odd to leave her with one empty ear hole. I removed that earring, and set aside the charms. I basically made my own version of her original pair, with the beads I had on hand. They are a little bulkier, since I didn't have the same sort of prisms that she came with. But I think they capture the overall feel of the look Anya wore in the film.

JC Penney Jasmine finally completed this collage in 2023. Unlike some of the other Disney Store type Jasmine dolls I got in the "Mountains of Monsters Lot," her earrings had been yanked out. Her previous owner had put in some gold jump rings as supplementary jewelry. Those were very classy and did work wonderfully with Jasmine. But since some of the gold hardware was tarnished anyways, and would need replacing, I opted to make something new. I went a little...wild with these. My sister said she was surprised by the direction I went in. But that's because I went the more traditional route with another Jasmine from that lot. By the time I got to this doll, I was in the mood to be adventurous. I had found these small purple circles at Walmart in the 98 cent baggie section right around the time I made Jasmine's pair. I thought they were super unique, which is why I snatched them up. When I realized they'd match Jasmine's purple gown, I just couldn't resist. I know, I know...purple crystals or golden beads would have been so much classier. But I like to experiment with some crazy designs...it keeps life interesting.

My Handmade Barbie Earrings (part 37)

Dolls in photo (from left to right):
-1998 Riviera Barbie
-1991 Rollerblade Kira
-1988 Garden Party Barbie
-1987 Perfume Pretty Barbie

Riviera Barbie might have my favorite pair of earrings from this collage. The second I identified her, I knew I had her original dress. I also had an idea in mind for earrings. This poor gal had rhinestones glued to her ears, as her original ones had been pulled out. It took me a while to scrape the glue off and to free up her ear holes. There is still a little residue that wouldn't budge. Anyways, her factory dress has dainty white daisies printed all over it. I didn't have any white daisy clay flower charms. But I did have yellow and blue ones, which match the color of the dress. I staggered the flowers on jump rings to create fullness. I got these little flowers at Michael's with a gift card. I'm VERY happy I made that choice, because I'm always reaching for these.

Rollerblade Kira was actually wearing a pair of handmade earrings when I got her. They were gorgeous and very classy. But I didn't feel that they matched the outfit my sister picked out for her. Instead, I used that pair for Jewel Hair Mermaid Midge. Kira is sporting this insanely vibrant and fun fashion pack with hot pink and lime green. I thought my solid colored beads (from a $5 tub I got at Walmart) would match splendidly. Rather than just having a bunch of plainly colored balls, I added in these hearts. I got them from an Amazon bead pack (I picked it out admittedly for the variety of hearts). I really love the way these colors work with the dress and Kira herself. Her crazy makeup and jet black hair look awesome with these.

It's not uncommon for me to revamp a pair of my own handmade earrings. Such is the case with my Garden Party Barbie, aka Share. She FINALLY got her original outfit...it was about time, given that I rescued her from the flea market twenty years ago. Anyways, she originally just had little pearls in her ears. They were some of the first earrings I ever made, back in 2012. In those days I had a very limited supply of beads, and I hadn't discovered my personal style (which is over the top gaudy). I wanted the earrings to match just about anything. By the time I got her gown, I was bored of these earrings. I found the various sized metallic purple beads at Walmart. I immediately thought of Share. I decided to add them to her old earrings. They are still relatively tame (well for me anyways), but a bit more interesting than the original ones I made.

Poor, poor Perfume Pretty Barbie (also known as Kimmy). She was a decapitated head with destroyed hair when I was given her in 2023. She was in such dire straights, I doubted if I could save her. Fortunately for Kimmy, I had a replacement body in storage and the boil wash worked its magic. Even after the makeover, she still looks a bit shabby...even compared to Kimberly (my childhood Perfume Pretty Barbie who was from the Salvation Army). I decided she needed some adorable jewelry to distract from her obvious flaws. And also to draw attention away from the somewhat sad dress she wears (the ruffles were pulled off by the previous owner). When I looked at her, I saw something classy, yet cute. I played around with different heart charms I had. In the end, I selected these dainty pink ones. I found these in a $5 kids bead tub at Walmart. They were the last ones like it, but Kimmy was worth it. I also added a bunch of different sized pearls. She required rather large earrings to distract from her flaws. These pearls were from various places--recycled jewelry, the Dollar Tree, etc.

Both pairs of these earrings were designed to go with Girl of the Year 2003 Kailey ensembles. I was fortunate enough to find them at the local flea market. Of course, I needed to accessorize them. Beach themed attire is one of my favorite things to design jewelry for. I have loads of nautical/ocean themed charms in my jewelry supply collection. I can't recall exactly where the seashell and turtle charms originated from. Were the from an old air freshener my friend gave me? A 98 cent bead bag from Walmart? One of the large $5 charm sets from Walmart? Either way, I knew I wanted to use them for Kailey's clothes. I chose the shells for the swimsuit, since they are rather small. The larger green beads above them take up a lot of real estate. But they are a PERFECT color match to this bright bikini. I recall finding these in a 98 cent baggie at Walmart years ago (I love this particular shape on dolls with bigger heads...like Bratz or American Girls).

Kailey's "Meet" dress is featured on the right side of the photo. She's actually supposed to come with a substantial amount of bling: a bracelet, anklet, etc. I figured I could get away with making some ornate earrings. I didn't want the charms on these to be overly chunky. The turtles are darling and not very cumbersome (plus they remind me of my friend Lisa--her favorite animal is the turtle). I chose these teal flowers since they compliment the print on the dress, as well as the color. I then chose tiny purple and green beads to pick up on the other colors in the design (there are flowers on the bottom of the dress). The green beads are quite shiny, so they reflected my camera's flash, thus looking white in the photo. I got these in a pricey pack from Walmart, that I bought when I added Lanie to my collection. Despite the cost and few beads included in the set, I got my money's worth. I hardly have any of them left after two years!

Okay, so nobody actually wears jewelry to swim, let alone special pieces to MATCH their swimsuit. But I see dolls as little runway models...their outfits are meant to be flashy, not functional. The swimsuit on the right side of this collage was purchased at the local flea market. Some of the American Girl logo on the top peeled with age. I also think that AG dolls look ridiculous in bikinis, since their torsos are cloth. To distract from the aged swimsuit and the silly fit, I made gaudy earrings. The pink beads (from a kid's art kit/$5 bead tub) were an exact color match. I wanted to add beads that complimented the white straps and trim. That's why I chose these large, white hearts. They were from a $5 tub of kid's crafting beads I purchased at Walmart in 2022. I definitely would buy another one of those tubs, given how quickly I've already depleted some of the beads in just a few months! I didn't bother taking a separate photo of the hair clip you can see here (I already made a similar one and documented it). But if you were wondering, the flower is from a lei Colleen brought home from work. I took it apart to use all the fabric flowers on dolly crafts. The center is made from UV resin mixed with pink glitter in a shell mold!

Grace, on the left, is modeling Girl of the Year 2007 Mia's "meet" ensemble. This is a winter themed getup. Naturally, I did think about using snowflake charms...but I didn't have any unfortunately. Nor do I own any snowflake molds. These round pink beads just so happened to be identical in color to Mia's sweater. I think I got these from a deconstructed bracelet years ago. I added a few blue heart beads (from a 98 cent Walmart baggie) to pick up the blue banding on her skirt. As for the little crystals, I thought they'd coordinate with the little sequin things on the waistband of the skirt too!

-My American Girl #41 "Maya"
-Truly Me #111 "Joynomi"

Yes, both pairs of earrings in this collage are WILD! I can't deny that I have extravagantly tacky taste when it comes to designing doll jewelry. The outfit modeled on Maya (on left) is the Snowy Chic one. It is from the flea market, so I'm missing the thermal bodysuit that goes beneath the jumper. That was no bother though...I could still use the jumper on its own. However, a little bling would help make it more convincing by itself. I didn't have any snowflake charms handy...that of course had been my first thought. Then I figured something resin would suit the vibe, since it's clear and would look very snowy. Worn by itself, the jumper has a 60s go-go girl vibe (what with the high collar and zippered front). Any excuse to use this earring mold I will take. Lindsey is my favorite doll to model with this shape...she rocks it! I had some iridescent confetti, which I purchased at a consignment store a few months prior. I couldn't resist the many different colors of confetti for just $4...I knew it would be handy for resin pieces in the future. I added in a little bit of shimmering white glitter too, for that extra snowy feel. The confetti is quite chunky, so I had to take my time placing it in the mold, so it was fully covered in resin (the mold is so thin you can't build up layers).

As for Joynomi, she is modeling the Sea Breeze Outfit...another secondhand acquisition. This ensemble is meant to come with a red bucket hat (which I saw at the flea market, but didn't know went with the romper I bought). I hope I can reunite this with the bucket hat in the future, so I figured it into my earrings design. I wanted these to be long enough to be seen under the hat, but not so bulky it looked cluttered. I've had these sailboat charms for a while, but they never worked with any other outfit. What could be a better ensemble to pair these with?!!! I added a little bit of red, to compliment the hat (which I do not have). These beads happen to be striped...just like the romper itself. I got them in a 98 cent baggie at Walmart all the way back in 2012. I used them many times over the years...I hardly had enough leftover to use for this pair! They always remind me of little peppermint candy cane pieces. Paired with this outfit though, they've been transformed into something nautical!

-Girl of the Year 2011 Kanani Akina
-Truly Me #57 "Raven"

Once again I over accessorized for my dolls. The earrings on the left were made for Kanani's Pajamas. Yes, my dolls do require jewelry for ALL occasions. As long as I have enough pieces to an outfit for it to be worn mainly by itself, I will craft earrings to coordinate. The color and pattern of Kanani's pjs remind me of Jess's and Grace's. I didn't want her earrings to be too similar to theirs. I saw these blue flowers in my jewelry organizer and knew they'd be PERFECT. The best part was, I had gotten them in a $5 kid's craft bead kit a few months prior. That meant I hadn't used them on Jess or Grace's jammies. Kanani's top has a floral print, and the color of the fabric is close. I have to attach them to the earrings using large jump rings (the flowers are meant to be strung...so if I want them to hang vertically, I have to use jump rings). I didn't want the flower beads to be the only thing I used. I had these little teal rectangles, which picked up on the dark outlines of the design on Kanani's top. I had just purchased these in a 98 cent baggie at Walmart a few weeks beforehand. I do check the discounted jewelry bins at Walmart every so often for goodies I can use in the future. Sometimes I find something super cool, like these rectangular ones!

Speaking of those 98 cent baggies, the pale purple/grey ones on Raven's earrings are also from one of those! I always keep my eye out for purple beads in particular...back in the day, I had so much trouble finding them! I fell in love with this dusty color when I spotted a cluster of beads bagged together. I knew that the unique shade would lend itself useful for doll jewelry. I already used a few of these beads prior to making the ones in this photo. This outfit is the Star Hoodie one--it was a Just Like You "meet" getup back in the day. That's why I chose the star charms...get it...star hoodie?!!! The clear stars are a different mold--they were from a bracelet I bought at a consignment shop (in the cheap section of the store). I always keep my eye out for kids' bracelets and necklaces. I find they have the most playful shapes and colors, as opposed to adult jewelry. Plus, being mainly plastic, they don't cost much secondhand (I think I got two of those star bracelets for 25 cents each). I got the pink stars in a $2 bead pack at Walmart years ago. Can we take a moment of silence for those $2 sets...I miss them SO much. They always had cool disco ball charms, pom poms, stars, etc. With inflation and time, those kinds of packs don't seem to be manufactured. Now you have to pay $5 for a much smaller pack of less diverse beads (unless you look in the kids' craft section...that's where cheap stuff lives).

I had a pretty good idea of what earrings I would make for these two outfits before they'd even arrived. Since I had issues with my first Mercari order, I had plenty of time to mull over inspiration. Anyways, the ensemble on the left is Saige's Tunic Outfit. The belt that is attached to the shirt has a little fringe with beads. This is what inspired the pair of earrings I designed. I had leftover cord from making Colleen's Courtney doll fringe earrings. This time, I decided to try a something a little more adventurous...I added beads. I tied three strands of cord onto each large jump ring. This created six strands of fringe on each earring. I left three plain, but then the other three I added beads to. I secured them with little crimp beads (since it would have been very difficult to knot the ends. I did apply glue and twist the ends of the fringe, to keep the cord from unraveling (I also add glue to the knots around the jump ring so that won't come undone either). I alternated the colors of beads, so the three strands wouldn't be identical. I chose colors that complimented the embroidered details on the collar.

I couldn't resist breaking out my beloved pom poms for Saige's Pajamas. I figured that the texture of the pom poms would correspond well with the fuzziness of her slippers. I tried both pink and orange pom poms. In the end, I felt that the orange ones worked better. These dusty purple beads are a near perfect match to her top. I got these from a 98 cent baggie at Walmart (the pom poms are from Michael's if you are wondering). The little colorful balls are the same as those on the Tunic Outfit earrings. These little guys always come in handy!

I grouped these two sets of earrings together since they both utilize silver charms. The fashion on the left is Saige's Sweater Outfit, the one on the right is her Parade Outfit. I squirreled away a pair of cactus charms one at a time, as they turned up in Walmart's 98 cent baggies. The large charm packs are often quite pricey...and you have to buy TWO in order to construct a pair of earrings (that can mean spending $8 to $10). When I noticed that the 98 cent baggies had charms in them as of late, I began to hoard them whenever I was grocery shopping. I was so excited the day another cactus charm turned up. I immediately thought of Saige and her Parade Outfit. I thought the desert cacti would compliment the western theme of her Parade Outfit. I also didn't want to do anything overly flashy with this ensemble, since I'm lucky enough to also have the separately sold cowgirl hat. I try to keep a balance with accessories (although I admit I often get VERY carried away). I chose some orange beads to pair with the charms, to pick up the colors from the awesome print of her shirt.

Saige's Sweater Outfit gave me very 2010 indie vibes. I was a teen in those days, so I remember seeing outfits like this one on real people (often paired with long necklaces and feather earrings or hair charms). I felt very inspired by this ensemble for that reason. I decided that these "hope" charms and wooden beads would suit the indie feel of this getup. The wooden beads are from a 98 cent baggie I bought at Walmart back in 2012. I used almost all of them over the years (mostly on my western themed Bratz). In fact, I didn't have a second yellow one to pair with this outfit...that's why I ended up choosing red wooden beads. I wanted to incorporate all the bold colors from her cardigan into the jewelry. That's why I also have magenta and yellow plastic beads, instead of sticking to just the wooden ones. I also should mention that the holes in the wooden beads are quite wide, so smaller beads are required anyways so they don't slide over the head pins.
