Leaving the cottage probably for the last time, I had to say goodbye too to Dorset, village on the border of Muskoka and Haliburton Counties, the heart of Ontario cottage country. Here's a glimpse of the one-way bridge, Robinsons' General Store where you can buy practically anything needed for cottage life, Northern D'Lites ice cream parlour, the channel where boaters moor to shop and loaf around, and a view of Trading Bay on gorgeous Lake of Bays. I've been shopping at Robinson's all my life. I remember when I was a little boy, a gift shop stood on the site of Northern D'Lites. We could buy bags of a toy set I liked: little wooden houses with red roofs, animals, and trees.
