This is my first experience of adopting a rescue dog. Emmy came into my life after I saw her picture on Petfinder. She was very shy, bedraggled, and thin. At first, I couldn't get her to eat, even though I was feeding her what the rescue group recommended. However, from the first time that I held her, a bond was created and she became my loyal dog. She follows me everywhere and wants to be with me every minute, even though the scars of her trauma are starting to fade. Now really enjoys her food, and has almost doubled her former weight. She is healing into a delightful, loving companion.
