Emerald Watcher

Hidden in the embrace of twisted branches, a sharp eye pierces the shadows.
This image captures an arboreal snake in a moment of still vigilance — perfectly blended into its environment, yet emanating a quiet intensity. Shot at ZooParc de Beauval, this scene offered a stunning opportunity to explore light, color, and natural texture within a controlled habitat that remains respectful to the animal’s wild essence.

Zebra Jumping Spider (Salticus scenicus) – A Tiny Hunter Up Close” ️🔍

Jumping spiders are some of the most fascinating arachnids, with incredible vision, lightning-fast reflexes, and a curious personality that makes them perfect macro subjects. This Zebra Jumping Spider was darting around constantly, making it a challenging but rewarding subject to capture.

To ensure maximum detail and depth, I used photo bracketing and then stacked the images in Photoshop to achieve an extended depth of field. Final color grading and refinements were done in Lightroom to bring out the intricate textures and fine hairs on this tiny predator.

Camera & Editing Details:
📷 Canon 90D | Sigma 105mm f/2.8 Macro
️ Bracketing for focus stacking → Stacked in Photoshop → Final edits in Lightroom

The Nilgris Framed

Views through the window of an abandoned building to the lush Kotagiri Hills in Tamil Nadu, India. I spent a couple of weeks staying in the hostel you can see in the distance. Called, 'The Door to Nirvana', the hostel was the best I stayed in during my six months in India. I met some great people, highly recommended!
