On State Route 516 in Kent, WA, workers begin to install a curb. The metal frame shapes the curb that will go along the SR 516 roadway. There are bricks placed in the frame to ensure accurate spacing between the sides of the frame.
After installing the frame, workers will pour concrete to fill in what will become the curb. This work is a part of the State Route 509 Completion project, which connects SR 509 to Interstate 5 and improves the I-5/SR 516 interchange and local roads.
The SR 509 Completion project is part of the Puget Sound Gateway program which completes the missing links in Washington state's highway and freight network.
