This picture shows where the light was coming from in the prior picture in my stream, which is a spiral staircase in the Joao III cloister of Tomar's Convento de Cristo monastery.
It is hard to judge the szie in this image, but it is a small spiral staircase and a small window, and it goes to...nowhere. Which is kind of fun!
This is the Convento de Cristo, the Convent of Christ. I'm always fascinated by the light and lines and elements of doorways, passageways, windows, and stairways--you know, those structures we pass through or look through on our way to another place beyond them.
