I took this early in March, on a wonderful day trip to Sidmouth and one of our favourite beaches in Devon, the Jacob's Ladder pebble beach. Lined with imposing red cliffs from the Triassic period, we set out for a bit of fossil hunting. We were delighted to find trace fossils of animal burrows near a landslide at the end of the beach.
I'm getting packed for another Hurricane Mountain Bike Festival in Southern Utah. I made this photo last month at Quail Lake, where the Festival is being held. I love the Southern Utah landscape so much. The layers of different color here are so nice. And the trails are great, too!

"Curvy Creek at Grand Staircase-Escalante" by Patti Deters. This image showcases a breathtaking panorama of the Paria Canyon, a hidden gem nestled within the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in Utah. The canyon walls, composed of colorful layers of sandstone in varying shades of red, orange, and white, reveal millions of years of geological history. The Paria River curves its way through the canyon, carving a path through the geological formations. Imagine yourself standing on the rim of Paria Canyon - the only sound the whisper of the creek far below as it meanders through the canyon. Time seems to slow down, and you are transported to a world untouched by human hands. It is a place of awe-inspiring beauty, where the earth's history is laid bare for all to see. "Vermilion Cliffs at Bitter Springs AZ" by Patti Deters. A vast landscape of rugged yet beautiful red rock formations can be found in the southwestern USA near Bitter Springs, Arizona. Known as the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, this remote and colorful geology includes many diverse vistas with this panoramic view of the cliffs one of my favorites. Under a bright, cloud-dotted sky, tall grasses sway in the foreground, adding texture and depth to the scene. Thank you for viewing this image.
