Adding to my collection of fascinating Osprey Nests from around the coastline of Australia. This one is from Rottnest Island near Perth, Western Australia. Ospreys build large, stick nests like this, near water, often using the same nest for many years. Both the male and female osprey contribute to nest building, with the female doing most of the arranging. The female osprey will lay one to four eggs, which will hatch after approximately 35 days. Both parents will take turns incubating the eggs and caring for the chicks.
