A year ago I spent some days with friends in Nagoya, Japan. We walked in Sakae, which has many bars and restaurants. The city center was totally destroyed in World War II, and was rebuilt with big streets. There are only a few small alleys left like this one. Last summer I showed the color version of this image at the Spirit of Japan: Then and Now photography exhibition at the Art Ark Gallery in San Jose, California.
I processed a balanced and a paintery HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, added vignetting, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
