Migrating Dunlin (Calidris alpina)

April 28, 2025, at Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, Brigantine, New Jersey, USA.
Here is a flock of migrating Dunlin (Calidris alpina).
The Dunlin is a circumpolar arctic breeder. They are amazing long-distance migrators that winter along northern hemisphere coasts in Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America. As one of the world's most common shorebirds, they occur in massive flocks during migration.
