In Russia and the former USSR in multi-storey buildings there is a garbage chute usually located on each floor or on the landing every other floor in Stalin-era buildings of the 30s, 40s and 50s the garbage chute is located right in the apartment usually it is located in the kitchen or in the hallway or in the toilet because of which cockroaches and rats climbed into the apartment from the garbage chute because of which in the 80s many residents asked to weld up the garbage chute in their apartments. And a little later in the 60s and 70s and 80s they did not put the garbage chute in the apartment. And in 9-storey panel houses of the P-49 and 1-515/9 series and in 12-storey large-panel houses of the P-18/12/01 series and 14-storey houses of the I-20A series the garbage chute is on the stairs every other floor because of which there could be a terrible smell of the garbage chute in the entrance. And in new buildings there is a garbage chute, but it is already welded. For example, if residents want to weld the garbage chute, they must vote whether the garbage chute should be welded or not?
