Regional Railways liveried Class 37/4, 37425 "Sir Robert McAlpine / Concrete Bob" makes an unscheduled stop in Spetchley loop whilst working the 5Z37 1410 Exeter Riverside North Yard to Derby RTC Serco.
The train was booked to wait time at Bromsgrove for just short of 3 hours but instead sat in Spetchley loop for 170 minutes.
With the first of the refurbished class170's released to traffic in the new Cross Country livery this pleasant colour scheme will eventually be a thing of the past.
3-car 170639 heads south and approaches Spetchley Loop on 3-3-25.
The working is the 1V10 1307 Nottingham to Cardiff Central Cross Country Trains service and running 2 minutes late.

68016 'Fearless' tnt with 68005 'Defiant' leading as they depart Spetchley Loop on 3-3-25.
The working is the 6M63 1200 Bridgwater F.D to Crewe Coal Sidings (Drs) nuclear waste service and departing the loop 12 minutes early. Had they left on time the weather would have closed in for a dull shot.

68033 'The Poppy' tnt 68034 ' Rail Riders 2020' depart the loop at Spetchley on 26-11-24.
The working is the 6M63 1200 Bridgwater F.D to Crewe Coal Sidings (Drs) nuclear flask train carrying low grade waste. It arrived in the loop at 1444 and departed at 1502 28 minutes early.
Had I photographed it arriving the sun would have been fully out.

Class66 66069 heads towards a quickly setting sun at Spetchley on 26-11-24. The sun had disappeared into cloud some 15 minutes before but there remained some pleasant reflective light.
The working is the 6V51 1239 Burton Ot W Yd Maurice H to Cardiff Tidal T.C. and was now running 24 minutes late.
The train was looped at Stoke Prior so my plans for a picture at Bredicot were shelved. During the wait there was no traffic for some time but with Abbotswood loop still closed it must have been decided not to risk it slowing up any faster moving traffic. Abbotswood is now back in use!
This road bridge at Spetchley has become an even less pleasant place to stand with an increase in bushes and brambles and some of the footings apparently slipping away. At least there is a barrier between the photographer and the road traffic.

The Voyager is of no real interest!
The yard is tidier in 2024.
