When I saw a thunderstorm heading east in the direction of the Badlands this afternoon, I realized I had an opportunity to photograph some lightning and dramatic weather over an already dramatic landscape. I was able to get ahead of the storm to capture this image!
Unfortunately, a lot of the more dramatic bolts of lightning only started showing up when I was in the middle of the storm itself, which is definitely not where I wanted to be...

It was a beautiful day at Narrabeen Beach in Sydney, then a huge storm front approached. Everyone was taking off for cover. I couldn't resist staying for some shots as the sky was changing colors and patterns so quickly. I hid under a rock shelf once the heavy rain started.
