NJ - Atlantic City: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino - Pat DiNizio tribute guitar by wallyg

NJ - Atlantic City: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino - Pat DiNizio tribute guitar

This Oriolo “Rockabilly Redhead” electric guitar has a very special connection to the Smithereens’ history. On January 13, 2018, members of the Smithereens paid tribute to Pat DiNizio, the band’s vocalist who passed away a month prior, in an all-star charity concert. Titled “Time and Time Again: A Celebration of Pat DiNizio,” the concert and livestream raised funds for the Pat DiNizio Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, N.J. The guitar was autographed by 20+ New Jersey legends and friends, including: Jim Babjak, Mike Mesaros, and Dennis Diken (The Smithereens); Steven Van Zandt; Marshall Crenshaw; Bebe Buell; Ed Stasium (producer: Ramones, The Smithereens, Talking Heads); Richard Barone (The Bongos); Peter Zaremba and Keith Streng (The Fleshtones); Graham Maby (Joe Jackson Band); Ted Leo (Ted Leo & The Pharmacists); Kristin Pinell (The Grip Weeds); Jim Monaghan (WNEW, WDHA); Kenny Margolis (Accordionist); Andy Burton (Keyboardist: John Mayer, Little Steven); Severo Jornacion; and ZouZou Mansour.
