This is a popular tourist photography spot and I had to wait a long time before it was clear of people to get this shot!
This street was formed next to the old city wall in the 13th century and the name means 'Noisy street' in Latvian. In the 19th century it became the haunt of prostitutes. At that time clapping your hands on the street would bring women to the windows above, beckoning you to enter.
