Snow runoff has really filled up the swamp next to Interstate 22 as the Saltillo Turn eases south towards the Tupelo Yard on a bright winter morning. You might be thinking, snow runoff in Mississippi? Hard to tell here but northern Mississippi and Alabama actually got a pretty good snow by deep south standards just two days before, with up to 3 inches or so around the Tupelo area. But like most snow events down here it didn't stick around long with temperatures quickly warming back up, and only a little bit in shady areas (and on top of those coil and tank cars) was left by Sunday morning.
Of course that sharp pair of widecab GP40-2s is no stranger to winter weather, having started out working for the Canadian National before moving south to the KCS in the mid-1990s.
