This F-4 was assigned to the Hells Angels of VMFA-321 and was photographed at its home base, NAF Washington DC/Andrews AFB, on 19 June 1978.
The markings on the aircraft were originally bicentennial markings which subsequently became the squadron's standard.

This colorful Phantom was photographed at NAF Washington D.C. (Andrews AFB) on a humid summer afternoon, 19 June 1978. Note the Mig kill marking on the intake splitter plate.
The Mig kill occurred while this aircraft was serving with VF-51 on 06 May 1972 while being flown by LCDR Jerry Houston and LT Kevin Moore from the USS Coral Sea (CVA-43).
This very modestly bicentennially marked (rudder has small stripes) F-8H of the Cowboys of VMFas-112 was photographed at its home base, NAS Dallas, in December 1975. At that time, VF-201 and VF-202 were also co-located at NAS Dallas were also equipped with the F-8H.
Shortly thereafter the squadron transitioned into the F-4N Phantom and later into the F-4S and F/A-18. Current equipment as of this date is the F/A-18A+.
In 1996, VMFA-112 moved to NAS Fort Worth (former Carswell AFB) where it presently resides and is a member of the 4th Marine Air Wing/41st Military Aircraft Group.

This RF-9J is from VMJ-4 which was the only USMC Reserve photo squadron to be established. The aircraft's markings show that it was assigned to the squadron when it was home based at NAS New Orleans. VMJ-4 subsequently transitioned into the RF-8A and then to the RF-8G before being disestablished in 1973.
The photo was taken at the (then) Pima County Museum in March 1976.
