The 5305 Locomotive Association is custodian of several engines including Black 5 4-6-0 45305 and N15 Scotch Arthur 4-6-0 30777 Sir Lamiel. Both of these are under overhaul inside Loughborough Shed.

Lamiel (its cab is seen far right) is our first priority and it is planned to return her to steam in 2026. However work does continue on the 5 and Neil has made it his business to work on rubbing down, red-leading and undercoating the frames which is what he's up to here. This is the lower cab area & the only part which will be on view when the cab is rebuilt and the floor laid are the two damper levers! The plan for 45305 is a return to steam in 2028.

Of interest are the boiler-less frames of Southern West Country pacific 34039 Boscastle behind on 1 road and Phil Wainwright's Black 5 45491 on the middle road..

Sport Air 40

Here’s a few photos from a bit more test flying of our Sport Air 40 prototypes. I’m finding this to be a great flying design, and I can’t wait until those of you who have pre-ordered get to build and fly it for yourself!

Some of you might remember this from N.E. Aerodynamics, back in the day. Well, we’ve taken that dynamite design, souped it up for laser-cutting, and packed in some far-out extras and primo improvements.

Our Sport Air 40 isn't just a build - it’s a full-on throwback of classic aviation swagger. So grab your tools, open up the glue, dust off that workbench, fire up the tunes, and let’s get these retro vibes back in the air.

For more information, flight videos, and to pre-order our Old School Model Works Sport Air 40 kit, visit www.oldschoolmodels.com/sa40.htm
