The entrance to this area is in Henry Street, Birkenhead. One side of this runs parallel to old Dock Railway. Alma Street runs down one small side of this.
I could only find a reference to a car-park for this area.
It was in use at the time of the photo, by about four couples.

This was taken in Marion Street, joining Argyle Street at one end, and Adelphi Street at the other end, looking at the map it appears to have been split into two street's by the railway.
Here you can see the scaffolding that surrounds the “Flat Iron” building, part of the restoration of the disused railway line. No physical work was being carried out at the time I took the photo.

This shot was taken over the wall at the junction's of Conway Street and Henry Street in Birkenhead. I think a "Start" has been made to clean-up the railway line but seems to have been
derailed.
Update Feb 2023: work has started here and looks better for it.

A Birkenhead disused train line could end up getting an overhaul to bring some of it back into public use.
The scaffold on the building you can see here, called the "Flat Iron" by me runs parallel with the disused train line.
There was no signs of physical activity at the time of the photograph.
This was taken from the round-a-bout at Conway Street looking towards Argyle Street and Marion Street.
Work to clear the tracks of debris and overgrown vegetation has begun and is expected to take about two weeks, although the overall project is not expected to be completed until the end of 2024. Once finished, the Dock Branch Park plan will see up to 1,000 homes built, as well as a park measuring more than a kilometre in length on land which has become a popular spot for fly-tipping over the years.
It is just one part of major plans to regenerate Birkenhead, which also include a new market, new office space (photos on this site), many new leisure facilities and thousands of homes, but the park could play a key part in tying all of these plans together.
This would represent a dramatic change for Birkenhead town centre, if it come’s to fruition.
The Dock Branch line has not been used since the 1960s and has now fallen into disrepair over decades. As the photographs will show on this Flickr site.

Liverpool Mountain was commissioned by Liverpool Biennial & Tate Liverpool as part of the Liverpool 2018 programme with support from Royal Albert Dock Liverpool.
This monumental work marks the 10th anniversary of Liverpool European Capital of Culture, the 20th anniversary of Liverpool Biennial and the 30th anniversary o Tate Liverpool.
Liverpool Mountain is Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone’s first public artwork in the UK. The sculpture, which seems to defy gravity, draws on an ancient global tradition shared by many cultures of stacking rocks in a totemic formation, inspired by naturally occurring hoodoos - spires or pyramids of rock - Rondinone’s large-scale public sculptures are in the land art tradition of making structures in the landscape using natural materials.
The 10-meter high Liverpool Mountain, poised between the natural and the artificial, the geological and the abstract, is part of Ugo Rondinone’s larger series of Magic Mountains outdoor sculptures. Earlier iterations of the project can be found in Miami and Las Vegas in the United States of America.
The capture of the two men working on the floor was intentional, and no they did not fall off it!

Jürgen Norbert Klopp, born 16 June 1967 is a German professional football manager and former player who is the manager of Premier League club Liverpool. He is widely regarded as one of the best managers in the world.
Klopp spent most of his playing career at Mainz 05. He was initially deployed as a striker, but was later moved to defence. Upon retiring in 2001, Klopp became the club's manager, and secured Bundesliga promotion in 2004. After suffering relegation in the 2006–07 season and unable to achieve promotion, Klopp resigned in 2008 as the club's longest-serving manager. He then became manager of Borussia Dortmund, guiding them to the Bundesliga title in 2010–11, before winning Dortmund's first-ever domestic double during a record-breaking season. Klopp also guided Dortmund to a runner-up finish in the 2012–13 UEFA Champions League before leaving in 2015 as their longest-serving manager.
Klopp was appointed manager of Borussia Dortmund He guided the club to successive UEFA Champions League finals in 2018 and 2019, winning the latter to secure his first – and Liverpool's sixth – title in the competition. Klopp's side finished second in the 2018–19 Premier League, registering 97 points; the then third-highest total in the history of the English top division, and the most by a team without winning the title. The following season, Klopp won the UEFA Super Cup and Liverpool's first FIFA Club World Cup, before delivering Liverpool's first Premier League title, amassing a club record 99 points and breaking a number of top-flight records. These achievements won him back-to-back FIFA Coach of the Year awards in 2019 and 2020.
Klopp is a notable proponent of Gegenpressing, whereby the team, after losing possession, immediately attempts to win back possession, rather than falling back to regroup. He has described his sides as playing "heavy metal" football, in reference to their pressing and high attacking output. Klopp has cited his main influences as Italian coach Arrigo Sacchi, and former Mainz coach Wolfgang Frank. The importance of emotion is something Klopp has underlined throughout his managerial career, and he has gained notoriety for his enthusiastic touchline celebrations.

This unassuming front door belonged to a terraced house just outside of Liverpool's city centre. In the 1950s it was the home of Percy Philips, who used the house as a base for his many businesses, including his successful recording studio which operated for 15 years.
The actual door is on display within the Museum of Liverpool behind a protective screen. The screen has the following wording on...
‘In spite of All the Danger’
By The Quarrymen.
In spite of all the danger
In spite of all that may be
I’ll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you’ll be true to me
In spite of all the heartache
that you may cause me
I’ll do anything for you
Anything you want me to do
If you’ll be true to me
I’ll look after you like I’ve never done before
I’ll keep all the others from knocking at your door
In spite of all the danger
In spite of all that may be
I’ll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you’ll be true to me
In spite of all the heartache
that you may cause me
I’ll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you’ll be true to me
I’ll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you’ll be true to me
I’ll look after you like I’ve never done before
I’ll keep all the others from knocking at your door

John Collins, from Norris Green, Liverpool, laid this special coat (shown above) at Anfield following the Hillsborough disaster, 15th April 1989.
He originally decorated and wore the coat to the European Cup final in Paris.
John was at Hillsborough, Sheffield. He was at the Leppings Lane with his friend. They managed to get away from the worst affected areas and later helped the injured. When John returned home, he left his treasured coat on the Kop, amongst the thousands of other tributes.
You can see it at the Museum of Liverpool.

This child-size post box. was made specially for the children at Fazakerley Cottage Homes. Poor and orphaned children lived there from 1889 to 1964.
Many children posted their letters to Santa Claus, while others wrote to extended family members. I do NOT remember this at all.
This post box is now located within the Museum of Liverpool.
Fazakerley is a suburb of north Liverpool, Merseyside.

The Red Plaque reads: Institution of Civil Engineers. Liverpool Overhead Railway 1893 - 1956 Engineers Sir Douglas Fox & J.M. Greathead.
The Goree Warehouses, built 1793, were named after a slave embarkation island off Senegal, West Africa, which also gave its name to the adjacent road by St Nicholas's Church known as Goree Piazza. There is a folk belief that iron hoops in the walls were used to chain up African slaves but this is untrue. The Warehouses were built 11 years after the courts ruled that every slave became free as soon as his feet touched English soil.

The first car to be made on Merseyside comes off the Halewood line and is presented to Lord Mayor of Liverpool DJ Lewis, The car was a Ford Anglia 105E registration number 1 KF.
The car was driven off the production line on 8 March 1963 by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Alderman D J Lewis, and presented to Mr Taylor (competition winner).
The next we hear of the car however is that is presented back to Fords by a Mr Balfour three years later. He had bought the car from the Taylor family shortly after their win and had clocked up to 28,000 miles. However his eye had been caught by a beautiful Cortina and Fords agreed to buy the Anglia back from him. It was then presented to Liverpool Museum for display in the proposed transport gallery, due to open in 1970.

Muse and Birkenhead council
28th of January 2022
Construction begins on Birkenhead’s two Grade A office developments
Following the announcement of a £75 million forward funding deal, Wirral Growth Company partners joined together to celebrate the start on site of two Grade A office buildings in Birkenhead town centre.
Totalling 150,000 sq ft, the BREEAM Excellent-rated office buildings have been forward funded by institutional investor Canada Life Asset Management and are due for completion in autumn 2023, with Morgan Sindall Construction named as its contractor.
The two new office buildings mark a significant milestone in the transformation of Birkenhead, being the second Grade-A development in the area since the Queensgate development in 2014. They form the central hub of an exciting new business and leisure quarter being developed in the heart of Birkenhead, which will enable the borough to attract further significant investment and create more opportunities for local people.
One of the two five-storey office developments will be occupied by Wirral Council, with the other available for businesses to lease.
Wirral Growth Company is a 50:50 joint venture partnership between Wirral Council and national urban regeneration specialist, Muse Developments.
Once complete, the office buildings will be connected by new outdoor public realm and open, adaptable spaces for occupiers, residents and visitors to enjoy, as well as providing opportunities for events and pop-up activities stimulating the daytime and evening economy in the town centre.
Mike Horner, development director at Muse Developments and director of Wirral Growth Company, said: “Getting to this point is a profound moment for Wirral Growth Company and testament to the hard work of everyone involved. This marks an exciting new chapter in the Birkenhead story and will act as a catalyst to bring about real transformational change to benefit the people of Birkenhead and beyond.
“There’s a shortage of Grade A office stock across the Liverpool City Region and, despite changing working habits, there’s still demand out there. Businesses are choosing to prioritise quality in their workspaces and looking for offices that are more flexible and suited to modern working practices. By creating this offer in Birkenhead, it’s a statement of intent that we’re serious about helping the town to level up its commercial offer, so that local people can be just as excited about its future as we are. We’re looking forward to seeing the development progress over the months ahead.”
Cllr Tony Jones, chair of Wirral Council’s Economy, Regeneration and Development Committee at Wirral Council, commented: “Building high-quality office space in the town centre will play a key role in changing the way that people use the town, which will benefit existing businesses and lead to new commercial opportunities. The start of work on site is a clear sign of the progress we’re making to secure the future of Birkenhead town centre.”
Richard Potts, Morgan Sindall Construction’s area director for the Liverpool City Region, said: “The development of two new Grade A offices will generate long-term growth and prosperity in Birkenhead and we are thrilled to be a part of making that a reality. We held various events to showcase how the local people could get involved in the delivery of the new offices and we look forward to using our role on this project to create skills and employment opportunities for local people, at all levels of experience.”
In September 2021, Morgan Sindall Construction hosted the Wirral Getting Connected event at The Hive in Birkenhead, enabling local workers and companies to make valuable connections with Morgan Sindall Construction, its supply-chain partners and local support services to help them to access employment and work opportunities as the regeneration of the town centre moves ahead.
More information about lettings for the office developments will be available soon, but businesses can email regeneratingbirkenhead@wirral.gov.uk to register their interest.
