Built 1930, 762 was one of 12 bogie cars equipped with English Electric mono motor trucks. Not totally successful and probably too far ahead of their time 762 was equipped with EMB Lightweight 2 trucks in 1938 and ran in service until withdrawn in 1955 when the lower deck was used as a bowling green shelter in Newsham Park from where it was rescued by the MTPS and rebuilt.
