Austin: North-Facing View From 360 Condos by escriteur

Austin: North-Facing View From 360 Condos

The views of Austin from our condo constantly evolved as new high-rises were erected throughout the downtown area, so I got in the habit of taking photos of our ever-morphing panoramas to show the changes over time. I took this north-facing shot from our balcony (unit 2010 in the 360 Condominiums building) on Thursday, July 13, 2017. (Our unit is currently on the market, but I plan to take pics whenever we stop by up until the time it's sold.) You can see how the landscape has changed if you compare this pic against a 2008 photo from when we first moved into the building.

By leaning over the edge of our balcony railing, I was able to capture the dome of the Texas State Capitol building near the upper right of the frame. Toward the upper left is the 24-story Seven Apartments tower, while the IBC Bank Plaza dominates the right side of the frame. (A partial corner view of the Austin Federal Courthouse is also visible toward the lower right.) The patio along the bottom of the frame is our building's ''Capitol View Terrace,'' which is accessible only to residents who live on the 17th floor. Finally, near the center of the frame, you can see a white residential tower (at upper left corner of IBC Bank Plaza) that was originally slated to be apartments but has since been sold to Wyndham Vacations. That building sadly blocked our view of the University of Texas Tower; but if you look very closely, you can just make out the top of the UT Tower peeking out from behind the left corner of the building.

Austin: Sunset View From 360 Condos

On the evening of Sunday, January 22, 2017, I captured this striking sunset view as seen from the balcony of our condo (unit 2010 in the 360 Condominiums building). This view faces north; you can see how the landscape has changed over the years if you compare this pic against a 2008 photo taken from our balcony when we first moved into the building.

By leaning over the edge of our balcony railing, I was able to capture the dome of the Texas State Capitol building at the far right of the frame. Toward the left, you can see the Seven Apartments tower, while the IBC Bank Plaza dominates the right side of the frame. (A partial corner view of the Austin Federal Courthouse is visible toward the lower right.) The patio along the bottom of the frame is our building's ''Capitol View Terrace,'' which is accessible only to residents who live on the 17th floor. Finally, near the center of the frame, the white residential tower is the new Aspen Heights apartment building, which has sadly blocked our view of the University of Texas Tower. (If you look very closely, you can just make out the top of the tower peeking out above the left corner of the building.)

Austin: Rainbow View From 360 Condos

A thunderstorm rolled through Austin on Sunday, January 15, 2017, leaving a pretty rainbow in its wake. I snapped this photo through the north-facing window of our bedroom (unit 2010 in the 360 Condominiums building).
