Flight line at K-2 (Daegu)

Another shot courtesy of Flickr user m20wc51, this one of F-86s at K-2 base in (I think) early 1952. Taken by a US Airman, whose name is not known. These are the slightly newer Sabres, featuring four 20mm cannons, rather than the six .50 cal Brownings on the original model. Note the anti-glare black stripe ahead of the cockpit. The long history of models and changes can be found on Wikipedia. The only other photos I've seen with nose numbers like these, and the yellow nose, belonged to the 8th Fighter Squadron which was based at Daegu/K-2.

There's an account by pilot Doug Matthews of what it's like to fly an F-86.

Original shot is here, for purposes of comparison. The shot had a pretty steep dutch angle which I have straightened.
