As I paced a dirt parking lot at a Bureau of Land Management recreation site in Grand County, Utah, while waiting for my assistant to arrive from Moab with my lunch order, I spotted a fine view of the cliffs of the landform "Dry Mesa."

Funfact One: Situated between the cliffs and the parking lot is the Colorado River. You can't see it!

Funfact Two: The eastern boundary of Arches National Park is about five miles west of here. Apparently the Dry Mesa was thought not to be pretty enough for inclusion in the park.

Funfacts Three and Four: Up top are vertical cliffs of Wingate Sandstone of the Glen Canyon Group, formed ~206.7 to ~199.8 million years ago in the Mesozoic era, during the Rhaetian age of the Late Triassic epoch and the Hettangian age of the Early Jurassic epoch. Below that are diagonal cliffs of the Chinle Formation, formed ~237 to ~206.7 million years ago, during the Carnian, Norian, and Rhaetian ages of the Late Triassic epoch. Each geological formation is its own funfact. Ages are per Macrostrat).
